Beacon: Offline Chat 1.0

Beacon is an off-the-grid communication application designed for users in close proximity. It functions without an internet connection, making it particularly useful in crowded or remote areas where cellular reception may be unreliable.

Ease of use is a notable feature. Upon opening the app and granting Bluetooth access, users can connect to nearby devices almost immediately. Each participant is assigned a unique, randomly generated color, requiring no manual setup or configuration.

The app enables users to send messages that are broadcast to all connected devices within range. Delivery receipts confirm when messages have been successfully transmitted.

For private conversations, Beacon offers a Speakeasy mode. Users can set a 4-digit code to ensure only authorized friends can join the specific chat. Each chat supports up to eight participants simultaneously, constrained by Bluetooth technology limitations.

It is important to recognize that Beacon should be used solely for convenience. It does not provide secure or private communication channels, and users should avoid relying on it for sensitive or critical exchanges. Due to its off-the-grid nature, subsequent confidentiality and anonymity cannot be guaranteed.
